UFC 100: Georges St. Pierre Vs Thiago Alves Results
The fight between Georges St. Pierre and Thiago Alves was bound to be one of the greatest of the year. Thiago being the top contender for the championship belt was a much bigger guy than GSP. He had shown tremendous skills in his fight against Matt Hughes domination the ex-champion for a crushing victory.
Last night proved to be very different. GSP was once again on top of is game delivering some amazing takedowns neutralizing his opponent with ease. All five rounds were won by Georges. Only once did Alves managed to get on top of GSP but without delivering any crucial damage. At this moment GSP hurt a ligament in his upper thigh which could have been devastating for the champion. However he did manage to hide his pain until the end of the fight.
Alves who was known for is ferocious stand up fighting couldn’t do any real damage to GSP who once again demonstrated his superiority as a complete fighter.
The fight did go for five rounds but the result was obvious: a win by unanimous decision for Georges Rush St. Pierre.
